A man who allegedly tried to rob a resident’s tablet in Winnie Mandela Zone 5 was attacked by an angry mob alerted by the victim’s screams for help.
The incident happened last night at 10.30am near Winnie Mandela Library.
The man, who was struck by stones, was rescued by patrollers who spotted the commotion while in the area, and managed to call the police for help. The 30-year-old man had severe head injuries the attack
His two accomplices managed to flee from the angry mob.
Community members who responded to the victim’s calls for help allegedly beat the man before apparently stoning him.
