TWO Brentwood Park brothers were wounded, one critically, during an armed robbery at Mashoba Lodge on Auret Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Santi Steinmann, Netcare 911 spokesperson, said paramedics arrived at the scene and found two men were injured during the shooting and assault incident.
Upon assessment of the two men, paramedics found that a 53-year-old man was in a critical condition after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured man to hospital, Steinmann said.
His 47-year-old brother sustained serious injuries. The injured man was treated at the scene and transported to hospital.
Benoni SAPS cluster spokesperson Lt Nomsa Sekele told the Benoni City Times three robbers had entered the home by using a crowbar to open the front door at around 3am.
One of the brothers was shot in the head and the other in the upper and lower body.
Sekele said the mother opened her bedroom door and saw her sons lying on the floor with two armed men standing next to them. She saw another robber standing at the front door. The men made off with the woman’s handbag.
