A 37-year-old tavern owner shot and killed a customer in Clayville on Friday, July 24.
According to Constable Mokete Serakwana, from the Olifantsfontein SAPS, the victim had allegedly parked his car behind another customer’s car.
The victim was cooking meat with a friend when the owner of the tavern requested that he move his car so that another customer could leave.
The victim complied and moved his car, but when he exited his car, an argument ensued between himself and the tavern owner.
“The tavern owner drew a firearm and shot the victim in the upper body,” said Const Serakwana.
The victim was rushed to hospital for medical treatment. He died at the hospital.
On Saturday, July 25, the suspect handed himself in at the Olifantsfontein SAPS.
“The suspect appeared before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Monday, July 27,” said Const Serakwana.
