ON Friday at about 7pm, two suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen goods along Poplar Street and the truck they were in was impounded.
Kempton SAPS spokesman Capt Jethro Mtshali said members of the Sector Crime Unit were patrolling when they noticed two suspects offloading goods from a big white truck.
“The officer questioned the suspects who were offloading about 69 gas heaters and asked them to produce an invoice of where they purchased the goods. They could not provide them with anything,” explained Mtshali.
“They were then arrested for possession of suspected stolen goods and the truck was also impounded by the police pending an investigation into who the truck belongs to,” he added.
The suspects, aged 18 and 28, will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate court on charges of possession of stolen goods.
