Ivory Park SAPS is looking for an unknown man who allegedly raped a 25-year-old woman on Wednesday last week.
The incident occurred at Kaalfontein Extension 1 when the victim was walking with her mother.
According to Ivory Park SAPS communication officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, the suspect followed the two women into an open veld.
“He took out pepper spray and sprayed it into their eyes. He ordered them not to scream. The unknown man searched them and robbed them of a cellular phone. After that, he pushed the 25-year-old woman to the ground, undressed her and raped her while holding a knife, threatening to kill her if she were to scream,” she said.
W/O Sekgobela said another rape incident happened last month in the same area where the suspect approached the victim with an unknown object.
“The woman fell down and remained unconscious. The unknown man raped the victim and disappeared. The police are appealing to women in Kaalfontein to be vigilant at all times. We request any information that could lead to the arrest of the wanted rapist,” she said.
