Foruty graduates from the Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) Call Centre will on Friday, August 14, be honoured at a graduation ceremony to be held at Leon Ferreira Fire Station in Boksburg.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality appointed these graduates at the services call centre in Bedfordview and as their one-year learnership draws to a completion at the end of August, a graduation ceremony will be held to acknowledge their performance and achievements while pursuing their practical training by working in the Emergency Call Centre.
The Metro will not only be celebrating the Call Centre graduates on the day but honour personnel from the Emergency and Disaster Management Services who participated in the Comrades Marathon, SAESI activities and those who offered their assistance to those in need during the recent attacks on foreign nationals.
“As a municipality that cares it is important for us to give recognition and respect to people in the Disaster and Emergency Management Services as their efforts often go unrecognized and unrewarded,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
An exhibition and viewing of specialised emergency vehicles and equipment will also form part of the event.
