A man was allegedly hijacked and robbed of his valuable items in Ebony Park on Thursday last week.
The Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, said the victim was sitting with his girlfriend inside his vehicle, which was parked along a street at night.
They were approached by two men.
“The couple said the two men threatened them with a firearm and instructed them to move to the back seats. The suspects then drove away. While driving, the two men demanded the victim’s bank card as well as the pin code.
“They robbed him of other valuables including a camera, laptop and cellular phones before they withdrew his cash from an ATM,” she said.
W/O Sekgobela added that both victims were dropped off at Motsu Section, next to an old age home in Tembisa.
“The SAPS is requesting that anyone with information, which may lead to the arrest of the suspects, to phone the Ivory Park SAPS. We are requesting members of the community to avoid parking their vehicles on the street at night while sitting with their partners. This will help to avoid being victims of hijackings,” she said.
