Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Loss Control and Investigations Unit members, in collaboration with a vehicle tracking company, recovered a hijacked Toyota Corolla in Esselen Park.
The recovery was made on Friday, August 7 and one man was arrested.
The vehicle was hijacked earlier in the day in Pretoria West.
According to Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, the EMPD spokesperson, they received a notice to be on the lookout for the hijacked vehicle at about 7pm.
Officers followed the tracking signal, which led them to a house on 13th Street in Esselen Park.
On arrival at the address, a man tried to drive out of the yard with the stolen Corolla, but was blocked off and arrested.
The 50-year-old suspect, who was the owner of the house where the vehicle was found, was charged at the Tembisa Police Station with possession of a stolen vehicle.
