Woman (32) stabs boyfriend to death

The couple were allegedly involved in a scuffle at their Kerk Street home

A 32-year-old woman will appear in court soon on a charge of murder after stabbing her boyfriend to death.

The woman, believed to be a Lesotho national, was allegedly involved in a brawl with her Zimbabwean boyfriend on Wednesday night in their Kerk Street home in Kempton Park.

Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for the Kempton SAPS, said police arrested a female suspect at about 10pm for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a sharp instrument.

“It is alleged the couple had an argument at their place which resulted in them fighting physically, after which it is alleged the boyfriend assaulted the woman,” Mtshali explained.

The woman then apparently took a sharp instrument and stabbed her boyfriend in the upper body. The 29-year-old man succumbed to his injuries and was later certified dead by paramedics.
