Two arrested in possession of toilet cleaning chemicals

The two men could not prove they were the lawful owners of the chemicals

ON Monday, just before 4pm, Norkem Park police arrested two suspects in Esselen Park for possession of stolen property.

According to Norkem Park spokesman Capt Lesibana Molokomme, police officers received a call to come to the open veld next to the Esselen Park School of Rail and found security guards with the suspects.

“The two were in possession of nine boxes containing Chembro destroyer chemicals. Each box contained 100 x 100ml small plastic liquid containers,” explained Molokomme.

He added that the arrested suspects, aged 42 and 52, failed to prove to police they were the lawful owners of the chemicals.

The two will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate Court on charges of possession of suspected stolen property.

Five suspects were also arrested on the same day by Norkem Park police – three for shoplifting and two for common assault.

They will also be charged and will appear in court.
