Three suspects were arrested for hijacking and kidnapping in Ivory Park, Extension 7, on Wednesday last week.
The arrests came after the SAPS was notified about the hijacking of a Mercedes Benz E250.
It is believed the victim’s father saw the suspects hijacking his daughter in the driveway of their house in Ebony Park, Midrand.
He notified the tracking company and the police.
The car was spotted driving towards Tembisa with four suspects inside. The victim, who is 31 years old, was also inside the vehicle.
Tembisa SAPS sector vehicles, the Ivory Park SAPS and tracking company members gave chase until the car was dumped in Ivory Park, Extension 7, with the victim inside.
The victim was not injured and the suspects fled in different directions.
An SAPS helicopter was summoned to the scene and helped the police officers on the ground with searching for the suspects.
Three suspects were arrested and two 9mm pistols and ammunition were recovered.
The arrested suspects are aged between 31 and 34. They are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on charges of carjacking, kidnapping and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The fourth suspect is still on the run.
The SAPS is appealing to members of the community to assist with information that can lead to the arrest of the fourth suspect.
