Spelling Bee roadshow at Kensington Ridge
Participating schools will be contacted soon regarding details of this year’s event
THE Spelling Bee roadshow, powered by Hirsch’s, visited Kensington Ridge Primary School, which was the winning school in last year’s spelling bee competition.
Now in its second year, the Spelling Bee competition is one of the events held under the auspices of Caxton to promote literacy. The event is aimed at giving our future leaders an opportunity to develop their public speaking skills, improve their speech and promote unerring usage of the English language, pronunciation and spelling.
Brigitte Thyse, regional PRO for Hirsch’s Homestore, spoke of the importance of literacy and why it’s important to host and be involved in this initiative.
Chris Mcinga, Caxton Near East branch manager, said the aim of the competition was to enhance the learning process and to expand the pupils’ horizons beyond the classroom.
Participating schools will be contacted soon regarding details of this year’s event. For more information on the Spelling Bee, contact Daniel Seleme on 011-916-5349 or alternatively email him at dseleme@caxton.co.za.
