Jeugpark principal makes the grade
Van der Vyver can be described as a transparent and hands-on leader
AT the start of the third term Willem van der Vyver stepped into school as the newly appointed principal of Laerskool Jeugpark Primary in Norkem Park.
As former deputy principal of Laerskool Mooifontein, Van der Vyver took over the reins from Theuns van Niekerk, now a retired principal and full-time grandfather.
“I am honoured and privileged to be filling the shoes of a great principal who helped shape Jeugpark into the school it has become.”

Van der Vyver’s vision for Jeugpark is simply to create a platform where less fortunate children can be loved and feel at home, where big-dreamers can build on their dreams and successes and to be a place where future leaders gain the necessary knowledge and skills to excel.
“Jeugpark is a school that performs exceptionally well in academics, sport and culture, and I’ve always been curious to know the school’s secret to success. Since becoming part of this dynamic team, I’ve realised that to succeed one must persevere, work hard, share knowledge and be dedicated to the cause. I look forward to my journey with the team.”
Van der Vyver can be described as a transparent, hands-on leader and an avid sports enthusiast. Being a great sportsman himself, he will represent South Africa at the national angling championship in Namibia in September.
