A man in his 30s is in a serious condition after he sustained two gunshot wounds to his chest on the N1 Highway near the Allandale turn-off in Midrand on Sunday.
Russel Meiring, ER 24 spokesman, said ER24 paramedics responded to the scene where they found the light motor vehicle parked against the roadside barrier. The lone occupant sat next to his vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained two gunshot wounds to his chest and was in a serious condition.
Treatment and advanced life support interventions were performed on the patient before he was transported to hospital.
The incident was reported to local authorities for further investigations.
