Three men, believed to be armed robbers, were critically wounded in a shoot-out on the N12 just before the Jet Park turn-off this morning.
Russel Meiring of ER24 said paramedics were called to the scene by local authorities. On arrival, paramedics found three men next to a vehicle on the side of the road.
Assessments showed all three men had sustained numerous gunshot wounds and were in a critical condition. Paramedics set out treating the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, they were transported to Tembisa Hospital for urgent treatment, Meiring said.
The cause of the shooting is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
In another shooting incident this morning one man has been killed and four others injured after an apparent shooting at a mall in Roodepoort, Meiring said.
ER24 paramedics, along with the police, received the emergency call and immediately responded to the scene. On arrival, paramedics found numerous patients lying in the parking lot of Clearwater Mall.
On assessment, paramedics found that one man had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Four other patients were found with various gunshot wounds, one of them critically injured. Paramedics began their treatment of the patients and provided the critically injured patient with advanced life support.
Once treated, all the patients were transported to nearby facilities for further treated.
Unfortunately, on route to hospital, the critically injured man succumbed to his injuries.
