A 35-year-old man handed himself over to the Tembisa SAPS on August 22.
Constable Patricia Mgijima said the man was arrested on the Saturday morning for a murder he allegedly committed in Temong Section.
She said the man was allegedly fixing a car in front of his house when a friend approached him. It is believed the friend was angry.
“The two had an argument. The victim went to his car and came back with an iron rod. He started assaulting the suspect. The suspect retaliated and stabbed him with a sharp object in the upper body,” said Const Mgijima.
When the suspect noticed that the victim was bleeding, he used the victim’s car to transport him to the Tembisa Hospital.
She said the victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
“The hospital informed the suspect of the victim’s death. The suspect then handed himself over to the Tembisa SAPS,” said Const Mgijima.
She said a case of murder was opened and the suspect was detained at the Tembisa SAPS.
