AN elderly Allen Grove house owner shot and killed a house robber in the early hours of Friday morning.
It is alleged the suspect and his accomplices had just robbed the man and his wife in their home.
“We can confirm that a case of house robbery is currently under investigation. It is alleged that four robbers entered the Peperboom Street home at about 3:15am, tied up an elderly couple and ransacked their home,” explained Kempton Police spokesman, Capt Jethro Mtshali.
As the suspects left the house, the elderly man managed to free himself, got his firearm and fatally wounded one of the suspects. His partners in crime then fled the scene, leaving him behind.
Investigations into the case continue.
