No injuries were sustained by either staff or fire fighters
FIRE engines from Kempton park, Commercia and Boksburg were on site to extinguish a fire that left a warehouse destroyed at a business in Sebenza on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services confirmed they received a call to inform them of the fire on Bronze Avenue at 4.55am.
The warehouse that caught fire belonged to Superb Packaging that specialises in various types of packaging materials such as cardboard and plastic.

“Our security guard that works with the alarm inside the warehouse said the alarm went off just after 4am. He came out to see what was going on and saw the fire. He immediately called one of the other partners. When we arrived at the scene the warehouse was already on fire and not much of it was left. We then called the fire department,” said one of the owners, Deon O’Connor.
The main materials that were in the warehouse were stacks of cardboard boxes that caught fire very quickly.
“When we arrived the warehouse was well alight. We brought in two water tankers and a medium pumper. The fire fighters had their hands full containing the fire so it didn’t spread to the other warehouses nearby. There was also a truck on fire that we needed to contain and it was very risky for us to go in because the structure had already started to crack,” explained Ntladi.
Sebenza SAPS was also on the scene and together with the emergency services’ investigation to find out the cause of the fire, they will send in their forensics department to have a closer look.
No injuries were sustained by either staff or fire fighters.
