Mandla Hlahla (52), a Tembisa resident, was shot several times in the upper and lower body by a company employee believed to be a manager.
“This morning Kempton police arrested a 57-year-old suspect believed to be the manager involved in the shooting,” Mtshali said.
“It is alleged the suspect arrived at the company and was approached by the security officer. He apparently suspected he was going to be hijacked by the guard.”
He subsequently fired several shots at Hlahla, fatally wounding him. It was later established that the deceased was on duty as a security guard.
The suspect will appear in Kempton Park Magistrate Court soon on a charge of murder.
