A 25-year-old man handed himself over to the Tembisa SAPS for allegedly killing his girlfriend on Monday last week.
The incident occurred at the Moteong Sports Grounds.
It is believed the suspect was sleeping at his house when his girlfriend arrived with three men.
“The woman told the suspect that she wanted to see if he was home. She then left with the three men. She allegedly told her boyfriend that she would return,” said the communications officer, Constable Patricia Mgijima.
She said the suspect then went to look for his girlfriend.
“He found her next to the Moteong Sports Grounds in the company of the three men. He told her to leave with him but the three men refused. A fight ensued and the suspect took out a sharp object. He stabbed the victim in the upper body and ran away. After some time, the suspect heard that the community was looking for him and he decided to hand himself over to the police,” said Const Mgijima.
