
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) dispelled rumours that it plans to pay staff salaries below the collective bargaining council agreement of seven percent.
The matter will be further clarified at the September council meeting.
“We wish to assure all staff that we will not be implementing anything less than the agreement of the bargaining council,” said Mr Themba Gadebe, the EMM’s spokesperson.
He said this issue had been cleared with organised labour in the city.
