A murder suspect is on the run after a 20-year-old woman was found dead inside his residence on September 20.
Ivory Park SAPS is looking for the man, who allegedly strangled and killed the woman in Ivory Park, Extension 9.
The station’s communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, said the deceased went to a tavern in the area on Saturday evening with her friend.
“On arrival, they found the man who was drinking. They joined him. She disappeared with the suspect in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“The father of the deceased reported the matter to Ivory Park SAPS. The police went with him to the address of the suspect in Ivory Park, Extension 9, where the deceased was found inside the room which was locked with a padlock,” she said.
W/O Sekgobela said the deceased was found lying naked on a bed and had bruises on her neck.
“The suspect, who is from Mozambique, is still on the run. The police are investigating a murder case,” she said.
Ivory Park SAPS is appealing for any information regarding the suspect.
