Kempton police need help identifying man’s body

He was knocked over by a car on the R21 off-ramp in Pomona

A man who was killed in an accident on the R21 in August has still not been identified.

As a result, Kempton Park police request the community to help identify the person so his next of kin can give him a proper funeral.

According to police spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, police attended the scene of an accident at about 8.51pm on August 26 where the deceased was struck by a vehicle on the R21 off-ramp in Pomona.

The man was certified dead by paramedics.

“The body has since been taken to the state mortuary and the body has not been claimed by the family. The deceased did not possess any form of identification in his possession,” Mtshali explained.

He is a black male and is estimated to be in his late 30s.

At the time of his death, the deceased was wearing blue jeans, a navy blue sweat shirt with a hoodie and a pink and purple beanie. No further description was given.
