Homes grateful for donation

The donation was made by the Sathya Sai Organisation and took place at the Ivory Park Community Centre.

Disadvantaged families and children of Ivory Park, Extension 8, couldn’t contain their excitement when they received grocery hampers and clothing.

The donation was made by the Sathya Sai Organisation and took place at the Ivory Park Community Centre, behind the Ivory Park SAPS, on September 23.

The Midrand-based Sathya Sai Organisation’s members also served lunch to 518 children from three various homes around Ivory Park on the day.

The three beneficiaries were Jesus Miracle Centre, Come One Come All Crèche and the Ivory Park Community Centre.

The president of the Sathya Sai Organisation, Ms Mala Reddy, said their aim was to feed the poorest of the poor in the community.

“We always try and help people who are in desperate need, especially the basic needs. The Bible says love all and serve all,” she said.

According to Mrs Reddy, the organisation conducted a full inspection at the three homes, to ascertain where the biggest need lay.

“We just want to put a smile on a person’s face,” she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Ms Coster Ngetshana who is a mother of two, thanked the Sathya Sai Organisation for its generosity and for spending the day with the children.

“I am happy and proud of the organisation. This proves that we, the residents of Ivory Park, are recognised,” she said.
