She briefly appeared before a packed Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday just after 1pm. Family members were also present.

Magistrate Livingstone Vusi Mahlangu said the case would be postponed to November 27 for further investigations.

Mahlangu said it would be a final postponement.

Malatji’s legal representative, Advocate Leon Khoza, said they had abandoned bail and would not proceed with a bail application.

“I am awaiting instruction from my client as to how to proceed,” he said.

Asked whether they would be pleading guilty or not, Khoza responded: “As I stated, the matter has been postponed for further investigation and I cannot comment further.”

Khoza pointed out that drug cases needed more time and that the case was postponed over the normal six week mark while awaiting the drug lab report.
