Annual Pub 2 Pub raises over R20 000

All proceeds from the day went to SANNCOB, a penguin rehabilitation centre in Cape St Francis

THE annual Pub 2 Pub Charity Dash took place last week Saturday and R23 300 was raised for the South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB).

Organiser Sandra Marriott said the day was a resounding success.

“With approximately 50 people having registered and a lot more people at Harvesters to support the cause, the entire event was very well attended by locals, family and friends, and an amount of R23 300 was raised with entrance fees, raffles and goods auctioned,” Marriott explained.

Marriott said the support from everyone present on the day was heart-warming and there was an electric atmosphere throughout the entire day.

The walk kicked off from Harvester’s Pub, at 62 Koedoe Avenue, Birchleigh Extension One, from 9.30am.

All proceeds from the day went to SANCCOB, a penguin rehabilitation centre in Cape St Francis.

Marriott said Tim Ronaldson, co-founder of the Pub2Pub charity walk, had approached Harvesters to assist in hosting the walk to raise funds.

“We are animal lovers of all shapes and sizes, and provide support when needed. Tim Ronaldson got in touch with SANCCOB and then approached Harvesters with the request to raise funds,” she pointed out.
