Children win at Outdoor Art Exhibition in Bredell

The winner received R1000 cash, with second and third place receiving R500 and R250 respectively.

THE winners of the children’s art competition in two categories with the theme “A wonderful life” was announced at the Outdoor Art Exhibition in Bredell on October 10.

The winner received R1000 cash, with the second and third place winners receiving R500 and R250 respectively.

The winners of the eight to 12 years old category was:

First: Chane Watt from AJ’s Art

Second: Melissa Bodenstein from Kidz Art’tainment

Third: Sarah Lee Slabbert

The winners of the 13 to 18 years old category was:

First: Cateline Smits from Hoërskool Brandwag

Second: Mary Ann Green from Art alive

Third: Elize Swart from Terry’s Art School

A special award for spontaneity and originality went to Zwele from Benoni Art route and he received R500.

There were nearly 50 artists exhibiting various forms of art such as glass blowing, sculpture, woodwork, knives, wrought iron, stained glass, bamboo garden accessories and paintings in all mediums.

Kevin Till, the Koi Doctor, was also available with his Koi fish to advise on how to take care of Kois, and garden experts, Danny Williams and Jacques Slabbert, shared their gardening experience and insights, and informed gardeners on how to construct a Koi pond that will not leak.
