Metro to launch young religious leaders structure
The young leaders will work closely with the metro
The City of Ekurhuleni will on Saturday, October 17, launch the Young Religious Leaders Structure at Germiston City Hall.
Themed “Advancing Youth Development in the Religious Sector”, the Young Religious Leaders Structure will be launched under the same principles as the Ekurhuleni Faith-Based Organisation and aims to legitimise young pastors, rabbis and religious teachers.
The young leaders will be encouraged to organise themselves into a structure that will work closely with the metro towards addressing social ills affecting the youth of Ekurhuleni.
“The structure will ensure young leaders from various religious formations work together with shared values in fighting poverty, hunger and inequality. It is only fitting that no disparities exist among us in our fight against these social ills,” said the Member of Mayoral Committee for Health and Social Development, Clr Makhosazana Mabaso.
