Mother of four arrested for neglecting her children

Molokomme said a case of child neglect had been lodged

FOUR children, aged between two and 10, were removed from their RDP home in Esselen Park on Monday, October 12, at 9am by Tembisa SAPS Child Protection Unit.

According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, the four siblings’ mother was arrested for neglect.

Molokomme said police received a call from a neighbour informing them the children were locked in the house by their mother from 6pm the night before.

“All the children were taken to a place of safety and their mother was arrested for neglecting her children,” explained Molokomme.

Molokomme said a case of child neglect had been lodged and the mother would be charged and appear in court.
