SINCE last year, transport industry giants including Barloworld, Avis, Air Chefs and the taxi industry have been enjoying an efficient vehicle licensing service at the Ekurhuleni Licensing Business Desk at the City House building, corner Voortrekker and Margaret Streets in Kempton Park.
A fleet manager’s dream, the specialized desk is a one stop shop offering comprehensive services such as the bulk registration of new and used vehicles, de-registration of vehicles and license renewals.
The facility also processes requests for police clearance, permits and offers advisory services on the best possible ways of managing a fleet in respect of all licensing needs.
The Ekurhuleni Licensing Business Desk caters for businesses located anywhere in the province and to date its first class services have attracted an unwavering and consistent client base of over 300 organisations.
The City recently hosted a dinner with executives from these companies where they thanked them for their business, shared their service achievements and plans to improve service offerings.
At the dinner, Ekurhuleni’s Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Roads and Transport, Cllr Petrus Mhlari, said: “As the City we endeavor to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations with the efficient services offered at the licensing business desk, through our remarkable turnaround time and the heightened levels of professionalism when interacting with you. Thank you for doing business with us”.
In an effort to keep the customers satisfied and to provide the most convenient services, the Ekurhuleni Licensing Business Desk will soon implement bulk collection and delivery services.
Other pending additions include the sending of account statements via e-mail and employing the services of an accounts manager and client liaison to extend the human element during business interactions.
Ntombi Moya, a bookkeeper at Air Chefs expressed how pleasurable the service experience is at the Desk.
“I have been working as a bookkeeper at Air Chefs for eight years now, doing business with the Licensing Business Desk has saved the company money and time, therefore we support the municipality’s efforts that make doing business with them easy,” said Moya.
