It is the season to be vigilant, warn police and CPF

The same campaign will continue again this Saturday from 9am with Sector 2

THIS is the season to be more vigilant and aware when it comes to crime matters, warn police and the Kempton CPF.

This message was passed on to the community during Saturday’s Sector 1 CPF Crime Awareness Campaign, where residents of Bonaero Park, Pomona, Bredell, Serengeti and Witfontein were sensitised about the scourge of crime, especially during this coming festive season.

“The campaign started off by distributing crime awareness tips just outside the Spar at the Bredell Complex, Pick n Pay Complex on Stanley Road and ended at an open veld on Atlas Road behind Total garage,” Kempton police spokesperson Capt Jethro Mtshali said.

“Both the station commander of Kempton Park, Brig Bertha Kgoroba, and the CPF chairperson addressed a few members of the community about crime prevention tips and warned the community to be vigilant during the festive season.”

Various private security companies such as Chubb security, PHP security and Alpha security were present on the day. ER24 paramedics were also there as an emergency service provider.

Local ward councillors Pieter Heining and Andre du Plessis also showed their support for the event, and the mounted police unit put on a horse show for the guests.

The same campaign will continue again this Saturday from 9am with Sector 2.

Residents from the following areas are invited to attend, where Kgoroba will also address the community: Kempton Park Ext 1-4, Nimrod Park, Aston Manor, Allen Grove and Glen Marais.

The next campaign will be held at the Avion Sports grounds on Highveld Road, Kempton Park.
