Woman dies after stabbing herself with a knife

It is believed the woman had asked her brother to look after her children if she should die.

A woman was found dead in a pool of blood after she allegedly stabbed herself in the neck with a knife.

The incident happened in Winnie Mandela Zone 10 on Friday.

It is believed the woman had asked her brother to look after her children if she should die. She then allegedly inflicted the fatal wound to her neck.

The Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha, said the deceased had returned home from a clinic in Winnie Mandela, after which she asked her brother to care for her children.

“The brother went shopping at Phumulani Mall. When he returned, he found his sister lying in one of the rooms with a knife stuck in her neck. She was certified dead at the scene. An inquest docket was opened and police investigations are continuing,” said Capt Ralidzivha.
