Mayor will get his hands dirty on Friday

Members of the 4 000-strong Clean City Brigade will be deployed throughout the City

EVERY last Friday of the month has been declared a “Clean City Neighbourhood Friday” in the City of Ekurhuleni.

On this day, the leadership of the City and its officials will join hands with its citizens to clean neighbourhoods and clear the illegal dumping spots at identified hot spots throughout Ekurhuleni.

On Friday, November 27, Executive Mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele, will kick start the campaign at Sam Ntuli Stadium in Thokoza. Similar programmes will start at 8am at Sethokga Hostel and Sam Hlalele Hall in Tembisa.

Members of the 4 000-strong Clean City Brigade will be deployed throughout the City to execute activities such as litter picking, cleaning of wetland areas, rodent control and other cleaning activities.

Individuals, businesses and organisations are encouraged to partake in the activities which aim to achieve the ideal of a Cleaner and Greener Ekurhuleni for the benefit of all citizens.

Community members are requested to bring along their own cleaning equipment and tools.
