School acknowledges top pupils

Charlotte Maxeke Secondary School learners recognised for their hard work

The 2015 top achievers were recognised at Charlotte Maxeke Secondary School on February 5.

Ms Lungile Mkonde said pupils were rewarded for their performance in academic studies, netball, soccer, music and athletics.

“These pupils made us proud last year. We hope to get a 100 percent pass rate for our grade 12 pupils,” said educator, Ms Mkonde.

She said this is their first grade 12 class since the school’s establishment in 2014.

“We were separated from Phomolong Secondary School due to over crowding,” she said.

The school’s principal, Mr Raymond Phosa, said the student recognition event will encourage the new grade 12 class of 2016 to work hard.

“To teachers, I want to say keep up the good work. I encourage parents to cooperate with the school by sending pupils to class on time. This recognition will increase a pupil’s performance and give our pupils morals to portray in the community,” said Mr Phosa.
