The City of Ekurhuleni will not change its refuse removal schedule in the year 2016, following the adoption of a fixed calendar system.
“Residents will be receiving colour-coded refuse removal calendars which reflect the collection days for 52 weeks of the year,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Mr Themba Gadebe.
“Ekurhuleni will not change its refuse removal schedule in the year 2016. This follows the adoption of a fixed calendar system. It is therefore the responsibility of each household to familiarize themselves with the refuse removal schedule in order to know the day on which refuse is to be collected,” he said.
Mr Gadebe said the waste collection services will be provided on all public holidays except December 25 and this will result in a consistent service all year round.
“Residents are urged to ensure that their bins, not plastic bags, are on the sidewalk as early as 7am on the collection day,” Mr Gadebe said.
The calendars will be available in due course on www.ekurhuleni.gov.za
