No water: Blocked valve was the culprit

The water supply should be normal by now

THE water supply to all areas should be back to normal now.

According to ward councillor Jaco Terblanche, construction workers found a blocked valve in the Allen Grove/Glen Marais area this morning.

As a result of this blockage, many residents kept on experiencing low water pressure or no water at all, even after maintenance work had been completed.

The blocked valve was discovered after opening fire hydrants to get rid of the air in the system, did not have the necessary results.

In the meantime a burst pipe also caused a water interruption in Birchleigh North. This has since been fixed.

Terblanche said residents still without water or with low water pressure must WhatsApp their addresses to him at 083-413-2420.
