Maranatha head has to let go of his beard

The school also introduced its mascot, Frikkie

MARANATHA Christian School participated for the first time in an inter-high athletics meeting at Boksburg Stadium on February 10.

The learners were excited for this and in an effort to give them an extra edge, Marnus de Vries, who heads up the Christian Moral Education Department, boosted their enthusiasm by agreeing to shave his beard of 18 months if they consistently met and practised their war cries at break.

The school also introduced its mascot, Frikkie the Eagle, who entertained and encouraged the athletes to perform and kept the crowd motivated.
