The victim managed to positively identity the perpetrator to the police before being taken to hospital

A 27-year-old man will appear in court on attempted murder charges for allegedly stabbing his friend.

The suspect was chased down by police and community members in the early hours of March 14 just after stabbing his friend with a knife.

According to Kempton police’s spokesman Capt Jethro Mtshali, the incident happened at about 2.40am while police were patrolling along Kempton Road.

“Police officers noticed a group of people chasing someone on street and when they inquired were told the suspect had allegedly just stabbed his friend with a sharp object,” Mtshali told EXPRESS.

“The police also gave chase and managed to arrest the suspect who was found to be in possession of the knife allegedly used to injure the victim.”

The victim, who was conscious at the time, managed to positively identity the perpetrator to the police before he was taken to hospital.
