Youths to be trained to help the community

The centre is calling on stakeholders to come forward and make a donation to make this programme a success

Ekurhuleni Artisans and Training Centre wants to embark on a programme called Skill for Life, but needs your help to make this initiative a success.

The programme focuses on getting 20 youths from the same area and training them for eight weeks at the centre. After the training they receive they will all be required to team up and go back into their community to renovate a pensioner’s home, using the skills they learnt at the centre.

The second part of the initiative is enterprise development. The centre will help the trainees to start up their own small enterprise with assistance from the Gauteng Economic Development Department.

According to Marthie Jansen van Rensburg, Ekurhuleni Artisans and Training Centre director, everything for this programme has been put into place – the only thing needed to kick off this programme is sponsorship.

The centre is calling on stakeholders to come forward and make a donation to make this programme a success. Should you be able to offer assistance of any kind, contact the centre on 011 970 3082/3.
