IN a joint operation held by the Tembisa cluster in Norkem Park, 225 people and 159 vehicles were searched with 25 traffic fines given out worth R15 000.
The operation took place from 10am to 6pm on Thursday, April 7, said Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme.
“One big roadblock was conducted on the P91/R25. Furthermore, two illegal shebeens were closed at Greenfield RDP houses and owners issued with fines of R1 500 each,” he explained.
Molokomme said the estimated liquor confiscated was 224 150 millilitres.
“During the period of the operation no serious incidents were reported, such as house robbery, carjacking and business robbery.”
