Edleen robber tells neighbour of break-in, flees with mates

Both husband and wife were assaulted by the armed men

AN Edleen husband and wife had been assaulted in their Ilexway Street home today when four armed men broke into their home.

According to Kevin Walker of Edleen Residents Association the men tied up the gardener before breaking into the house.

“The suspects used a white old shape Mercedes as a getaway vehicle. It is unfortunate they were not apprehended. It was awesome seeing the close community in attendance,”Walker said.

“A special thank you to the teachers and headmaster of the Laerskool Edleen, Hannes Roodt, who were also in attendance and pursuit of the perpetrators.”

A nextdoor neighbour posted on Facebook that Alpha, ADT and MML were all very quickly on scene.

He said one of the culprits came to his house to report they were breaking in next door.

“I went to press my panic as well, only to hear from my worker that he then jumped into the car and was one of the scum.”
