IN a police blitz Norkem Park SAPS, the metro police and security officers arrested 21 suspects the past 24 hours.
The metro police also arrested 12 suspects for drunk driving on Thursday night.
Capt Lesibana Molokomme, Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, said in one incident at about 11.30am MML Security officers arrested a 32-year-old suspect on Boelboel Street in Birch Acres after they have responded to a complaint of a housebreaking in progress.

“On arrival the suspect was found hiding in the roof of a vacant house. He was arrested and will face a charge of housebreaking with the intent to commit an unknown crime,” Molokomme said.
A man wanted in connection with rape and house robbery was arrested along Pongolariver Drive at 5pm. The arrest come after the victim spotted him and informed the police. It is alleged the arrested suspect, together with another suspect still at large, attacked the victim with a knife at her home on January 25.
“On the day the mother of the victim employed the two suspects to clean her yard. She left them with her daughter, aged 32. The complainant felt sorry for them and decided to give them something to eat. The suspects pushed her into the house, raping her and taking property in the house.
“The police are following up information that will lead to the arrest of the second suspect,” Molokomme said.
