Residents show their force with mass patrol
The patrol was organised by Hannes Volschenk to discourage the criminal element in the areas
A mass patrol through three suburbs took place on Wednesday evening last week to show a force of security to criminals.
Alpha Security, Edleen CPF, Van Riebeeck Park CPF and Birchleigh Neighbourhood Watch join in the patrol which started at Edleen circle at 7pm.
The group drove through Edleen, Van Riebeeck Park and Birchleigh.
The patrol was organised by Hannes Volschenk to discourage the criminal element in the areas and to show the large force of eyes keeping an eye on the community and working together in the fight against crime.
The Patrol commander from Edleen, Mark Pronk, led the convoy through Edleen. Patrol commander Kobus Jonker took over through Van Riebeeck Park, while Johan Blignault, patrol commander of Birchleigh Neighbourhood Watch, led the convoy through this suburb.
There were 23 CPF and neighbourhood watch vehicles, accompanied by five Alpha Security vehicles.
If any resident would like to get involved in the CPF or neighbourhood watch, they are welcome to contact Volschenk from Alpha Security on 082-903-6500.
He will ensure that you get into contact with the correct person in the respective sectors.
