Acting on information received from a reliable source, the metro police’s drug enforcement unit was able to arrest four suspects found in possession of the drug cat, valued at R3 000, on Friday.
Surveillance of the North View Heights flats on Maxwell Street was conducted from the early hours of Friday morning. At 9.30am, on approaching the flat, metro police met a suspect who, when exiting the flat, dropped a Ziplock bag of cat.

“He was arrested on the spot. On entering the flat, the metro police caught three suspects in the process of crushing the cat in block form, readying it to pack it into bags. The trio were also arrested, Lt Col Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said.
“Together with the confiscated drugs, cash amounting to R5 500 believed to be proceeds from the illicit trade was found. They were booked in at Kempton Park Police Station.
“All the arrested suspects, whose ages range between 25 and 32, are Nigerian nationals.”
