Ivory Park SAPS conduct crime awareness campaign

W/O Sekgobela said they encouraged the community to phone the emergency numbers provided to them whenever they are experiencing difficulties regarding crime.

The Ivory Park SAPS Crime Prevention Unit joined by its youth desk and members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) conducted a door-to-door crime awareness campaign.

The campaign was held at Ivory Park, Extension 15 on Friday last week.

Ivory Park SAPS communication officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said the purpose of the visit was to distribute pamphlets with emergency telephone numbers for the police, including those of sector managers, commander of visible policing and sector vehicles, as the residents have been complaining about crime escalating in the area.

“The community members are raising concerns about robberies of cellular phones occurring next to Malatji Park behind Ivory Park, Extension Shopping Complex,” said W/O Sekgobela.

W/O Sekgobela encouraged the community to phone the emergency numbers provided to them whenever they are experiencing difficulties regarding crime.
