Top finish for local choir

The school's choral choir, which consists of 60 male choristers, finished in second place.

Emmangweni Primary School’s choral choir performed admirably at a national music competition.

The school’s choral choir, which consists of 60 male choristers, finished in second place at a competition that featured participants from all nine provinces.

The school’s principal, Mr Golden Ramoetlo, said the choristers competed under the conductorship of Mrs Sindiswa Manisi at the Randburg Rhema Church hall on June 28.

Mr Ramoetlo said the boys made the school, the community of Tembisa and the entire Gauteng province proud.

“I want to thank the SGB, parents, teachers, learners and the community who have been rallying behind our school. I hope these children can become future musicians,” said Mr Ramoetlo.

He said he would also like to encourage other learners to take part in school activities.

“I want to encourage parents as well to allow their children to take part. I also want to thank the music committee,” he said.
