WARNING: Strong winds expected to hit Gauteng overnight

The City of Ekurhuleni’s Disaster and Management Services officials will be on high alert

The City of Ekurhuleni wishes to inform residents that the South African weather forecasters predict that strong and damaging winds will hit Gauteng from midnight until the wee hours of Wednesday, August 3.

These winds are sudden and can cause much damage. Residents are advised to stay indoors where possible and away from windows that open towards the severe winds.

Those who are travelling should be aware of cross winds, especially between buildings, and flying debris, and should stay clear of fallen trees and power lines.

The City of Ekurhuleni’s Disaster and Management Services officials will be on high alert for as long as the adverse weather conditions persist.
