Zitikeni team manager, Mr Lekgoathi Mokoape said the games were very tough and exciting as well.
“We encountered so many challenges throughout the tournament but we managed to become champions in soccer and at least in netball we won position three.
“I am very proud of my players and their performance from the beginning of the tournament. It was hard work, planning and team spirit that helped us win. We worked on our mistakes and avoided repeating them and applied all the tactics that made us achieve victory,” said Mr Mokoape.
The founder of the tournament, Mr Cavaan ‘Shakes’ Sibeko, said he was delighted that the tournament was a great success.
“People were excited about the whole tournament and I wanted this tournament to benefit all the schools in Tembisa, not only the 20 schools participated. A lot of talent was spotted throughout the tournament. Tembisa has got talent indeed, we just need to organise those constant events to expose it,” said Mr Sibeko.
Mr Sibeko added that all the teams played in the tournament were eager to become champions as they displayed great skills.
“I would like to thank all the people who supported the tournament and sponsors who made it a success,” said Mr Sibeko.
