Young German talks to Rotarians

Kemptonians are urged to join, as there is not a club in Kempton Park

LONG-TERM Edenvale Rotary Youth Exchange Student, Karoline Schwarzer, gave a talk about German culture at the club’s recent monthly meeting.

Karoline arrived in South Africa in July and is being hosted by families in Edenvale and Kempton Park. She is attending Edenglen High School.

She shared with guests many aspects of Germany – politics, environment, education and social activities, as well as the temperament and ethos of the German people.

Given that Karoline is only 16, her presentation was extremely impressive and she spoke to guests at length.

The vice-president of youth exchange, Terry Cannon, was in attendance and urged Edenvale Rotary Club to take the opportunity to forge a relationship with Karoline’s club in Germany to seek assistance with projects in the community.

Edenvale Rotary Club meets once a month at 6.30pm. Kemptonians are urged to join, as there is not a club in Kempton Park. Call Linda on 082-929-5142.
