Local actress is the new face of Kempton

She is also a teacher, actress, dancer and shoe shopper

LOCAL beauty and teacher, Simonè Roets (20), walked away with the title of Miss Face of Kempton Park on September 4.

She’s not only a model but a student Grade 1 teacher at Birch Acres Primary School, while studying education through Unisa.

Roets was approach by organisers of the competition to enter and ended up being crowned as Miss Face of Kempton Park, at Mahala Lodge.

“Now that I have this title, I need to encourage the young people to believe in themselves. I will also be doing charity work with the aim to make a difference in someone’s life,” said Roets.

Roets is a model at Mainstream Models with Michelle Howell and has acting experience. She also loves dancing and shoe shopping.

“In the short film ‘The Secret Life’, I played Carly – the lead role – and went to the Kleinkaap film festival to showcase the film on August 8,” said Roets.

She also played the roll of a witness of God’s presence in ‘Gebore Talente’, which will be premiering at the end of the year. In her latest film, ‘Vicky’, she will be portraying the leading role: Pippie. The film is about human trafficking and will air in January next year.

“In my personal life, I want to grow more towards the person God wants me to be and complete my education degree, plus do psychological work.”

Roets’ message to all young aspiring models and actresses, is to be yourself; also that beauty which lies within is greater than exterior beauty.
